Abuse Prevention Department

508/897-5400 Press 3

The Abuse Prevention Department has one supervisor and three clerical employees, who also function as the Paternity Department.  Abuse Prevention Orders are heard on an emergency basis as needed.  The  Court is open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm for walk-ins.  There are numerous papers that are filled out for Abuse Prevention Petitions.  As such, we generally do not take walk-ins after 4:00 pm.

If you wish to file an Abuse Prevention Petition, and the Court is not open, you should  go to your local  police department.  There is always an emergency Judge on-call, after hours.
